In General
Industry, fall protection is required whenever you are four feet above the next level. When choosing the right
fall protection for your warehouse job, make sure that you take all the fall protection hazards into
consideration.
When doing your
fall protection calculations you must consider whether you have a shock absorbing lanyard. The absorption
elongates 3.5 feet and you have to add another foot for stretch. So if your fall protection is a six foot
lanyard, add 3.5 feet for the shock absorption and another 1/2 foot for stretch now add the distance from
between your shoulder blades to your feet for you total fall distance. If the anchor point is above you harness
subtract that from you total, if it is below your shoulder blades add that to the total.
To make it simple,
